The activity pool is kept at 83 degrees and the competition pool is kept around 81-82 degrees. Water temperature depends on weather conditions.

Yes, bathrooms for both pools are located near the entrance to the aquatic center. Outside deck showers are located next to the Aquatics office

Children under the age of 2 swim free.

Both pools are accessible for ADA. The Competition Pool has a handicap pool lift that is available everyday the pool is open for recreational swimming.

The Activity Pool has a zero depth entry that is accessible for water wheelchairs during recreational swim.

Service animals may accompany people with disabilities into CHS Aquatics Center. Animals must have a current service license and be leashed at all times.

We accept cash and cards. We take Visa, Master card, American Express, Apply Pay and Google Pay.

Once a class has started or guest use of the aquatic facilities has started, no refunds will be granted without a medical excuse. Refunds for medical excuses will be prorated. No refunds will be granted for rental, activity or class no-shows.

Use of both pools – competition and activity pools are included during recreational swim hours. Aqua Fitness Classes are also included with memberships.

Aqua Yoga Classes are not included with memberships and must be purchased separately.

Lap swimming is first come first serve. We encourage circle swimming in each lane so we can accommodate as many lap swimmers as possible.

All participants visiting the pool and swimming on their own without parental/guardian supervision must be over the age of 14.

Yes, just fill out our transfer request form and at the end of the month, we will switch your membership for you. The summer pass will be prorated and adjusted to the remaining months available.

Our monthly membership purchases expire at the end of the month you purchased the membership. You will need to purchase another monthly membership if you would like to continue with this pass.

No, there are no refunds. Please only purchase a membership pass if you are going to use it.

Yes.

No, individual and family passes are for families that live together. All guests are required to pay the daily usage fee or purchase their own monthly and/or summer pass.

4 family members are permitted under a monthly and/or summer family pass. Each family will receive two individual pool passes that is scannable at the cashiers office. The pool pass requires a photo ID on file and will need to be updated yearly.

Unfortunately, no. Please wait to purchase a membership until you are ready for it to start. Memberships are active from the moment payment is received and will renew every month on that day.

Swim Assessments are optional. We have create a virtual swim lesson assessment to help you with selecting the correct lesson type. If you need further assistance, please ask at the front desk and we can schedule a swim lesson assessment with one of our Swim Instructors.

Swim lesson participants are permitted on deck to get ready for their swim lessons 10 minutes before the start of lessons.

Please do not come any earlier than 10 minutes before as our team is preparing the pool for lessons and transitioning from recreational open swim to programming.

If you arrive any earlier than the allotted 10 minutes, you will be charged the daily rate admission.

A couple of things to consider bringing would include: a towel, a change of clothes, sunscreen, goggles and water. Dive/Snorkel masks are not allowed for lessons. Goggles must only cover the child\’s eyes if they wish to use them during swim lessons.

Only approved bathing suits (non-cotton or containing any metallic parts) are allowed in our pools. The lifeguards have the ultimate decision on what is acceptable and what is not. Inflatable toys and arm floaties are not allowed.

Swim diapers are required on all children who are not potty trained. Changing diapers on the pool deck is prohibited by state law. Changing tables are provided in restrooms.

Unfortunately, no. With back to back lessons and limited pool space, we cant allow children to remain in the pool once their lessons have been completed.

Yes, all participants of our swimming lessons must pass a level prior to beginning the next level. This is for safety reasons for the Instructor, your child and all participants within the group.

Please keep in mind that each group lesson is geared to assist all participants of similar swim capabilities and provide each one a safe and learning atmosphere. Our group lessons are geared to help participants better themselves in the water, whether it is being more comfortable and/or improving their swim strokes, while also teaching safe water practices.

If an instructor sees a participant is not suited for the currently enrolled group lesson (comfortability in the water, swimming capabilities, age of participant, etc.) the instructor may move them to a higher or lower group lesson. The instructor has final say in which level and/or group the participant should go, all based on the skills and experience of each participant. If this is to occur, the instructor will inform the Pool Manager of CHS, which then the parent will be notified.

You are responsible for being on time to all lessons. If the participant is late, the instructor(s) will not schedule a make-up lesson. The same goes for lessons that are missed entirely. Group lessons will always start at the designated lesson time unless weather interferes.

Participants that are late may join their designated lesson, but will only be given up to the allotted time. If none of the participants arrive within 15 minutes after the start time for the lesson, the instructor has the right to cancel that lesson for the day. Lessons will not be made-up or refunded for tardiness or absence.

There are no make-up lessons available for group lessons. If a lesson occurs and it is running more than half the scheduled time but called short due to weather and/or other reasons, that lesson will count. If the lesson is canceled due to weather and/or other unforeseen circumstances and it was less than half the scheduled time, you will be credited back for the 1 missed lesson.

No individual make-up lessons will be allowed. No make-up lessons will be provided to individual students who miss time due to illness. Our instructors are not allowed to conduct make-up swim lessons at home residences due to personal safety and liability concerns.

If an individual class has to be canceled due to unforeseeable circumstances by the Christopher High school Aquatics Center, everything will be done to make up the class at a later date, but make-up lessons are not guaranteed. Please see our make-up lesson policy.

Swim lessons will be canceled in the event there is an inclement weather warning. An inclement weather warning is defined as:

If lightning is observed or thunder is heard by any Aquatics staff member.
It is raining so much that the bottom of the pool cannot be seen
Be aware we will open if it rains, but if it is severe rain that we cannot see the bottom of the pool then the pool will be temporarily closed until the bottom can be seen.

It is The Swimming Swan’s policy that all patrons must clear the pool and deck for any of these warnings. The weather will be observed for 30 minutes before further action is taken. If after 30 minutes, the weather has cleared, staff will resume operations and patrons will be allowed back into the pools. If the weather does not clear, Management will determine if the pool will be closed for the remainder of the day.

Swim lessons will resume once the aquatics staff gives the OKAY. Every effort will be made to contact parents if it is suspected that your swim lesson will be canceled for the day.

We do our best to provide the optimal learning environment and experience for everyone taking our courses. If any participant has any condition and/or accommodation needed for any disability, please ensure to tell the front desk and/or management before/during your registration.

We wish to ensure we are doing everything in our power to help you during swim lessons, but we need to be made aware beforehand to properly prepare. Any medical conditions that may affect the participant during the lesson should also be informed at registration and to the instructors to ensure the safety of all participants within the lesson.

Parents may not leave the pool deck during the swim lessons. They must be available to take a child to the bathroom if the child needs to go during a lesson as swim instructors and lifeguards cannot leave the other youth in order to take them. Parents are asked to stay in the picnic table area during swim lessons to ensure all children are engaged with the lesson. If an instructor asks you to be closer, that is fine but no parent can be on the edge of the pool once lessons start.

If in the event you’d like to speak to the on-site pool manager, we ask that you find an appropriate time so that lessons and other aquatic programming are not interrupted.

All participants and parent or guardians of participants will be given the opportunity to fill out an evaluation form at the completion of the season.

Refunds will be given for private lessons with a minimum of 1 weeks notice. We will not make any adjustments to this policy.

We kindly ask that you make sure you can attend all private swim lessons that you register for.

Yes. Each aqua fitness class you can take at your own pace. The Instructor will work with you to make sure you are not overstraining yourself. There is numerous equipment available to help with buoyancy, please let the Instructor know if you are experiencing any pain and remember to always take each class at your own pace.

No, there are no make-ups. Please make sure you can participate in the class you signed up and paid for.

During the weekdays, Set-up can begins at or after 11:30 am and your guests may enter the gate any time at or after noon (12pm). Clean up begins at 4:00 pm and all party rentals end at 4:30 pm.

During the weekends, set-up begins at or after 11:30 am and your guests may enter the gate any time at or after noon (12pm). Clean up beings at 5:00 pm and all party rentals end at 5:30 pm.

When you arrive at the pool, please provide the cashier and/or Manager on duty a list with first and last names of all your guests, including you and your family. This way, staff can check your guests in and provide them a wristband that allows them into the party area.

The private shaded area with 6 picnic tables are included.

The maximum permitted number of party attendees is 40 people. Your guest list includes both swimmers and non-swimmers (all children and adults entering the facility for your party, including the guest of honor). No additional guests may be added as the capacity of the party area is 40 people maximum.

All Children under the age of 13 must participate in a swim test prior to swimming in the “green wristband area.”

Yes, you can bring in food and cake. Keep in mind there is no refrigerator or freezer available for your food.

If you are in need of an additional table for food placement, please let us know.

CHS Aquatics Center is located on a school campus and therefore smoking and alcohol are strictly prohibited. Glass containers/products, outside chairs, tables and umbrellas are NOT permitted in the facility.

Participants must be 11-14 years old to participate in Junior Lifeguard Course.

Participants must be 8-10 years old to participate in the Bitty Lifeguard Course.

Yes, participants must be comfortable in deep water and be able to swim 25 yards of front crawl (freestyle) and breaststroke demonstrating breathing to the front or side.

Those Participants who do not pass the pre course requirement will not be able to take the course. The course leader will be able to assist in recommending the appropriate swim level for your child to enroll in.

This is program is 2 weeks long and runs from Tuesday through Thursdays. Class times are 9 AM to 1 PM.

This is program is 3 days long and runs from to Thursday. Class times are 9 AM to 12 PM.

Participants must bring a swimsuit, towel, change of clothes, sack lunch, water bottle and sunscreen. Hats or visors are recommended but not required.

Although the Jr. Lifeguard program follows the outline of the American Red Cross course, students will not be certified in first aid, CPR, AED or as a lifeguard.

Due to the volume of programs at the pool, missed class days will not be made up.

No, they are unable to volunteer. The Swimming Swan, LLC is a for-profit company and the State of California does not permit child labor or child volunteer work for private companies.

The last hour of the Junior Lifeguard Program will include shadowing lifeguards to gain experience.

4. You must complete all four practice-teaching assignments during the Lifeguard Instructor Course.
5. Successfully pass the written final exam with an 80% or better

Refund Policy: 

There are no refunds once the course has been registered for and payment has been received. Payment in full from the entire group must be received prior to the date of class.

 

Class Transfer: 

There are no class transfer options for on-site group training. If our trainers travel to you, every student whom has signed up for the course is expected to be in attendance.

 

Cancelled Class:

The Swimming Swan LLC., reserves the right to cancel any classes at any time. If a class is cancelled, a full refund will be given OR students will be given the option to transfer classes to another date with no additional fees.

 

48 Hour New Student Enrollment:

No new students are allowed to enroll into a course within 48 hours of a course start date. There are no exceptions to this rule and the online coursework. must be completed prior to the first in-class session.

 

No Visitors:

Only registered students are allowed on the pool deck and/or in the classroom during class. All visitors must wait outside in the parking lot OR leave the premises until class is over for the day.

 

 

Blended Learning Internet Requirements: 

Chrome is recommended when logging into the Blended Learning Course for your online course work. Do not use Internet Explorer. If you are using Safari or Firefox , you must go to your internet settings and turn off any popup blockers for the course to work correctly. You should use a laptop or desktop computer, we do not advise you use a cell phone to complete your online course work.

Employees need to be a minimum of 15 years old and obtain a signed work permit. We will provide this document to you to then take to your school and have signed.

No. You can apply with us and then you can sign up for the lifeguard course.

Our positions are for dual employment: Water Safety Instructors and Lifeguards. During the pre-service orientation, everyone will participate in a Swim Instructor training.

If you do not want to teach swim lessons, you can only lifeguard yes, however the rate of pay for Swim Instructors/Lifeguards is Higher than solo lifeguard positions.
